What water to fill the bath with, what water to fill the machine with, and why both matter for a great session.
A hydrogen bath has two water sources — the bath itself, and the small internal reservoir that feeds the hydrogen generator. Both matter, in different ways.
Bath water
Use the same water you would use for any other bath at home. The diffuser injects molecular hydrogen into whatever water is in the tub — clean municipal water is fine.
Internal reservoir water
The reservoir feeds the PEM cell. Always use distilled or high-purity deionised water. Tap, mineral or spring water leaves deposits inside the cell and reduces output over time.
Why this matters
- Distilled water protects the long life of the membrane stack
- Clean bath water keeps the diffuser bubble field crisp and visible
- Both are inexpensive and available anywhere in the world

- Can I use bath salts?
- Skip heavy salts and minerals during a hydrogen bath session — they can dull the bubble field and leave residue on the diffuser.
- What water goes inside the machine?
- Always distilled or high-purity deionised water. Never tap or mineral water.
