Hydrogen Bathing
Using and caring for Bath One™
One guide to setting up, running, cleaning and looking after Bath One™ at home — preparation, water, safety, care and common questions.
Creating a Home Spa Experience
A hydrogen bath becomes a destination ritual when the room around it is designed with intention. The system itself is engineered to look beautiful — the room can do the rest.
Lighting
Replace overhead lighting with a single warm side lamp or candles. The water surface becomes the visual focus.
Texture
- Folded linen towels in a single colour
- A small wooden stool beside the tub
- A glass of cool water
- A simple ceramic vessel for oils or salts (only if compatible with hydrogen bathing)
Sound
Silence, ambient music, or a binaural recording. The Bath One™ runs quietly — the soundscape is yours to design.
Rhythm
Most owners settle into a 2–4 session per week rhythm — often as a shared ritual with a partner, or as a personal reset at the end of a long day.
Bath Preparation Guide
Water temperature
Most owners prefer 37–40°C — warm enough to relax muscles, cool enough to extend the session.
Fill depth
Fill to a depth that comfortably covers the body. The diffuser sits at the bottom of the tub and generates a bubble field through the full water column.
Pre-bath ritual
- Rinse before entering
- Lower the lights and start the music
- Set a timer for the session — 20, 30 or 40 minutes
- Place a cool glass of water beside the tub
During the session
Lie still and breathe slowly. The bubble field will be visible across the surface within the first minute. Many owners find the second half of the session the deepest part of the experience.
Bath Water Quality
A hydrogen bath has two water sources — the bath itself, and the small internal reservoir that feeds the hydrogen generator. Both matter, in different ways.
Bath water
Use the same water you would use for any other bath at home. The diffuser injects molecular hydrogen into whatever water is in the tub — clean municipal water is fine.
Internal reservoir water
The reservoir feeds the PEM cell. Always use distilled or high-purity deionised water. Tap, mineral or spring water leaves deposits inside the cell and reduces output over time.
Why this matters
- Distilled water protects the long life of the membrane stack
- Clean bath water keeps the diffuser bubble field crisp and visible
- Both are inexpensive and available anywhere in the world
Water Quality
A PEM hydrogen machine produces hydrogen by splitting water. The cleaner the water input, the cleaner the gas output — and the longer the life of the membrane stack.
Use distilled water
Always use distilled water — or a high-purity deionised water — in the internal reservoir. Avoid tap water, mineral water and bottled spring water.
Why this matters
Minerals in untreated water deposit on the cell and reduce output over time. Distilled water is inexpensive, available worldwide, and protects the long life of the machine.
Hydrogen Bath Machine Safety
A premium hydrogen bath system is engineered to live beside the bath in a busy household. Safety is built into the design — but a short list of habits keeps every session calm, predictable and worry-free.
Electrical safety
- Run the machine from a standard grounded outlet — universal 100–240 V is supported
- Keep the cabinet on a stable, dry surface beside the tub, not on the tub edge
- Never submerge the cabinet — only the silicone hose and diffuser enter the water
- Unplug before refilling the internal reservoir or moving the unit between bathrooms
Water safety
Bath water is heated and shared with the body — keep it the way you would any premium home bath. Refresh between sessions, and rinse the diffuser hose with clean water afterwards.
Session safety
- Pick a comfortable water temperature (37–40 °C is most common)
- Set a session timer — most owners run 20–40 minutes
- Keep a glass of cool water beside the tub
- Step out slowly at the end of a long session
When to pause
If you feel light-headed, end the session and rehydrate. Hydrogen bathing is gentle, but a hot bath is still a hot bath — the same common-sense rules apply.
Caring for Your Bath System
After every session
Drain the bath as usual. Rinse the silicone hose and diffuser with clean water and hang to dry. Wipe the cabinet with a soft cloth.
Weekly
- Top up the internal water reservoir with distilled water
- Check the diffuser for any visible mineral residue
- Wipe the touchscreen and control surface
Annually
Replace the diffuser and inspect the silicone hose. Both are simple consumables. The internal generator is engineered for long service with no user maintenance.
Storage
If the system will not be used for several weeks, drain the internal reservoir and store the hose dry. A premium system tolerates this routinely.

Frequently asked questions
- Can I use bath salts?
- Skip heavy salts and minerals during a hydrogen bath session — they can dull the bubble field and leave residue on the diffuser.
- What water goes inside the machine?
- Always distilled or high-purity deionised water. Never tap or mineral water.
- Is a hydrogen bath safe in the home?
- Yes. Premium hydrogen bath machines are designed for unattended home operation and carry full certification — CE, RoHS and ISO 9001 manufacture.
- Can the machine sit on the bath edge?
- No — keep the cabinet on a stable surface beside the bath. Only the silicone hose and diffuser enter the water.
- How long can a single session run?
- Most owners run 20–40 minutes. The machine generates continuously, so there is no benefit to running longer than your bath.
- Will it work in my bathroom?
- Yes — the Bath One™ is portable and runs from a standard outlet. No plumbing changes are required.
- How quickly does the bubble field appear?
- Within the first minute of operation. It is visible across the surface for the full session.
- Can children use it?
- Adults supervise as with any bath. The system is engineered for adult home wellness use.
