Understanding Hydrogen Output
What hydrogen output figures actually mean — and what to look for.
Hydrogen output is measured in millilitres per minute (ml/min). The figure is the volume of hydrogen gas generated and delivered per minute of operation.
What the numbers mean
- 150–600 ml/min — entry-level home units
- 1,000–3,000 ml/min — mid-range home units
- 6,000–8,400 ml/min — premium multi-user systems (H6 Pro™, H8 Pro™)
Pure H₂ vs mixed gas
When comparing output, always confirm whether the figure refers to pure H₂ or to a mixed gas (sometimes called oxyhydrogen or Brown's Gas). A pure H₂ figure is the meaningful one — a mixed-gas figure overstates the hydrogen delivered.
Adjustable flow
Premium systems allow flow to be adjusted down for shorter, gentler sessions and up for longer, multi-user sessions. Adjustability matters more in daily use than peak output alone.
